Commemorate the school’s 100th Anniversary Celebration with one of our ornaments.

Samuel Patterson’s vision was to create a school that would be the “symbolism of the power of education”. Designed by Hobart Upjohn, Roanoke Rapids High School was built to be the centerpiece of the community. The Charlotte Observer called it “the largest and finest high school building in North Carolina” when it opened in 1921.

This beautiful school has seen a century of memories and continues to produce graduates who embody Patterson’s dream of the power of education.
